My goal here is not to discuss the merits of carrying a gun into a sports game. That’s a much longer discussion for another day. What I want to highlight from this story is the bigotry proudly on display by many of the commenters

That just freakin great, a whole stadium full of inbreds with guns!!!!!!

If you are such a chicken sh&t that you need to pack heat to attend a game of football then you need to stay home.

i am all for it. If packer fans want to rid the world of their ignorance, far be it for me to oblect. I cant wait to see headline. 2000 dead. Packer fans riot after stadium runs out of beer.

Do we really believe they will allow concealed guns into a stadium with 50,000+ drunk rednecks?

LE'me get this here straight: I can pack major heat, get liquor'd up, curse the opposing team's fans, and they'd be too scar't to yell back? Sounds like redneck heaven! And if'n I'd think the ref was agin my side, I could plug'm? YeeHaw! Wisconsin is Mississippi!

How about we replace ‘redneck’ with nigger, kike, spick, or faggot? The bigotry here is the same. I’m not so sure it’s projection insofar as simply a way to demonize ‘the other’. That’s what the KKK succeeded in doing when they pushed for gun laws, the first of which were enacted to keep slaves from revolting. Those darkies and Jews are not able to control their animal instincts (them being closer‘n ta animals than normal white folk!) so we should take away their guns before they snap and kill hundreds of people, causing panic!

What’s even sadder is because “rednecks”, not being a ‘protected class’, are fair game while if you were to say something similar about a lesbian, you’d be up on hate crime charges faster than you could blink. I love the logical disconnect of progressives that refuse to assign blame to those who commit crimes because they’re a product of ‘society’ and that it’s someone else’s fault, but those who have Southern sensibilities? Cousin-humpin’ bible readers who aren’t bright enough to watch anything more than NASCAR and shouldn’t be allowed around anything sharper than a spoon.

It’s also funny how these people seem to focus on the 3 or 4 people out of 50,000 who might decide to bring their gun with them rather than the thousands that do get sauced and decide to drive home. Then again, bigotry isn’t anything that can be tamed by logic.
