So there I am, doing some dry fire practice. I checked the chamber, it was empty, so I practiced a cross draw. Somehow my finger found its way to the trigger and pulled halfway through the draw and *BAM*! A 10mm bullet travelling at 1300fps does considerable damage to drywall. Luckily there was spackling available and I was able to fix the wall before anyone got home, but the guilt was powerful.

So powerful that even after waking up, I was shaken.

In the dream, I knew I had an empty chamber, but then I realized that my ‘press check’ must have stripped one off the magazine which I realized I had forgotten to unload. All of that seemed irrelevant to me though since I was more mad at myself for having my finger on the trigger during the draw.

Pretty sad when you’re mad at yourself for something you did in a dream, but that’s the life of a gunny.

What kind of weird firearm-themed dreams do you have?
