Regarding Mayor Adams' proposals for gun control, I must add my perspective. As a former Army officer, gunsmith, member of the NRA and a competitive marksman, I see no reason why citizens, other than law enforcement, should have free access to armor-piercing rounds, military or automatic weapons, extended clips or undocumented purchases at gun shows.

If there's a scurvier hive of Uber-Lefties on the planet, I've not yet found it. Southeast is to intellect and data-driven reason, as Phoenix is to permafrost and wind-driven snow.

As a former peace marcher, head shop owner, member of the Brady Campaign, and gun store protester, I see no reason why we shouldn't have constitutional carry in all 50 states, eliminate the National Firearms Act, Gun Control Act, and Brady Bill, overrule all state gun laws as violations of the 2nd Amendment, and make Samuel Colt's birthday a national holiday.

So, as a reality based, war protesting, independent thinking, women's empowerment volunteer and donor to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, I see no compelling government interest in restricting the availability of suppressors (as other countries do not... international consensus seeking!) nor foregoing the tax revenue that could be derived from additional registrations on the NFA registry (small steps... moderate! Desensitize the public as a prelude to eliminating the NFA entirely).

I see possibilities.
