But how exactly does one openly carry a *concealed* weapon in the Sunshine State?

Resident Christopher Williams has concerns about bill. "I think the crime rate will go up and make a lot of people nervous because you may have a lot of guns in the hands of the wrong people."

Poor Mr. Williams doesn’t realize there are plenty of guns in the hands of the wrong people already. Just because Open Carry is legalized doesn’t mean Bartholomew Winston Eddington the Fourth is going to start carrying his 9mm Jennings openly as he walks the hood. I totally expect PSH to reach levels that will start to measure on the Richter scale, and this is just a sample of what’s to come.

Would it be considered "openly carrying a concealed weapon" if I was carrying concealed, and wearing a shirt that says, "I have a concealed weapon"?

How about if I was carrying a Colt SA in one of the old cavalry flap holsters? The gun itself would be completely concealed, but it is out in the open.

"Open Concealed": Also, the fact they they use a picture of a room full of seized, or "bought back" long guns shows how little effort they put into their "reporting". I can hear it now:

"OK people, who wants to cover the gun nut issue... Suzy, why don't you take that. Just grab a picture from our gun buy back story"

The real tragedy is that some of these people really are intelligent people, their brains just shut down when it comes to guns. The simple logical truth is, allowing people who already legally concealed carry to legally open carry will have no effect. The people who will open carry are the same people who already concealed carry. Nobody is going to decide to carry that wouldn't have before simply because they can now do so openly.

Now, carrying BIGGER guns, that is likely. I plan on carrying my full size .45 more often when (if) open carry passes. It will still be concealed with a cover shirt as usual, but I will be more comfortable doing so since an accidental display will no longer get me in trouble. I will also have an excuse to make my guns prettier! Nicer grips, maybe a little engraving! YAY! I might even build a BBQ gun! Nickeled (or more likely polished stainless) .38 super here I come!

Has anyone ever heard of an instance of a gangbanger, drug dealer, any violent felon openly carrying a firearm in an OWB holster in any state where OC is legal? Ever?

I rarely see folks OC, and when I do it's either well dressed average citizens (I.E. not the guys down in the hood selling drugs) or plainclothes cops.
