I love listening to music complaining about consumerism. I’m willing to bet those bands would be the first in line to sue for piracy too.

One of my favorite artists (whose personal politics I happen to find abhorrent, admittedly) recorded a song entitled "I want my music on Napster". I dont' recall he's done anything on the evils of consumerism, though - he's mainly a satirist a la Wierd Al.

I know Metallica is firmly in that category. Some of their best known stuff was ripped off from smaller artists. Yet they were the driving force to shut down Napster.

I always loved that aspect of Rage Against the Machine as well.
