Wyoming senate passes Constitutional Carry.
Still has to go through the House, but it looks good for Wyoming. We at Florida Carry are paying close attention to these events and will be following in the footsteps as time goes on. Our first goal is to get Open Carry legalized. While Constitutional Carry is a great goal, it wasn’t something that was politically feasible. A bill to demand Constitutional Carry would not have seen the light of day whereas the bills for OC and adding teeth to preemption are looking really good.
Legalize, Acclimatize, Deregulate. First we get it legal, then we get people used to it. Finally, when we can show that there are no issues with it, we have it deregulated.
As more and more states start to adopt Constitutional Carry the effect will snowball, just like Shall Issue did. It takes time, and it’s frustrating that logic cannot prevail quicker than it does, but it will prevail.
Personally, I feel very insecure in the presence of private citizens carrying weapons. I know nothing about them - their temperament, mental stability, or even their legal right to carry those weapons.
