23 year old Brenda Brown decided to murder someone over ice cream. Her weapon of choice? Her vehicle
The husband told police that he and his wife were crossing the street to go back home when he saw a silver PT Cruiser careening down the road. Going north, the crazed driver made a fast turn over to the southbound lane and barreled the silver bullet toward the couple, striking the wife 10 feet in the air. The car also smashed into the man's shopping cart, but he jumped out of the way and avoided being struck.
See, if the woman doesn’t live through this (she’s in a coma at the time of this writing), it won’t matter to the anti-gun crusaders. Her death is irrelevant since it didn’t involve a gun. And this shows the glaring weakness in their argument – people who are crazy or murderous will ply their trade with whatever tool happens to be in their possession. In this case, it was a car.
You won’t hear the Brady Campaign blaming the AAA on this.
My favorite part is this
Brown is charged with assault, leaving the scene of an accident, and armed criminal action.
That’s correct. Armed. Because the tool is irrelevant, it doesn’t matter if you’re armed with a gun, a car, or a frozen piece of tilapia. What makes a weapon isn’t the item itself, but the human behind it. Thus, blaming the tools makes as much sense as using Salisbury steak for a contraceptive.
Not that we expect common sense from the gun banners though.
