It’s a new year and I’ve got some new things on my plate which are chewing into any free time I might have had.
First and foremost, I am now a board member to Florida Carry, Inc. I’ve spent a lot of time behind this keyboard railing on about gun rights and it was time I stepped up my game a little. While my primary role for Florida Carry is managing the web & media aspects, I fully expect to end up in front of a camera at some point.
I’m also the Tampa coordinator for the Open Carry Fishing Events that are held every month, meaning I need to call the county DA and ensure he knows we’re there so we can try to avoid any ‘man with a gun’ calls. This Saturday I will be at the Ballast Point pier from 10-Noon if anyone is interested. You just need a fishing pole and a saltwater license which is like 50¢ at Wal-Mart.
I’m also writing for GunsForSale.com as my initial run of ammo reviews went well. Expect a lot of new stuff coming out on that. You’ll also notice an ad on the right for them as well. I would like to call attention to the fact that I kept my promise insofar as I did say I wouldn’t put many naked iguanas on it. I’ve got plenty more ammo reviews as well as pistol reviews coming up, so stay tuned for that.
Working on the reviews and the web stuff for Florida Carry takes up a ton of time. Both of my girls are in school, so there’s homework to deal with as well as making time to be a part of their lives and not just ‘Daddy is always on the computer, working’.
It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it. I hope I can be an effective agent of change in Florida gun laws which still need work, a good reviewer for GunsForSale.com, and be a major part in my daughters’ lives. And still throw in plenty of range time too.
