2 men dressed as Santa rob a Swedish castle guard of his *loaded* AK5.

Seriously, we need to ban Swedish guards as they are an easy source for illegal weaponry. Full auto, illegal weaponry if my memory serves.

This happened in the middle of the night where I’m sure that boredom overrode Condition Yellow into White. I also don’t know if the Swedes are allowed to shoot. He may have not had that option, or he may have just been jumped, the article doesn’t give much detail.

All I can say is make sure you have some sort of retention plan should you decide to sit on Santa’s lap next year. He’s a sneaky bastard.

Since when have the Swedes issued ammunition to their honor guard? Granted, after that small scandal about a decade or so ago where it became public knowledge that the honor guard did not actually have authority to guard anything, the Swedes relaxed the guards orders some, giving them the authority to do other things than just stand there and look pretty. But going as far as issuing live ammo seems a bit much for that country.

(I can see how someone could pull that off quite well though - and if someone doesn't see how, I invite them to stand absolutely still for two hours in the middle of the night and then try to react promptly and efficiently to a sudden and unexpected rush attack. It's quite a bit trickier than it may seem. Especially during this weather, when you have to be wearing quite a bit of clothes to be able to stand absolutely still for two hours and not freeze solid. Honor guards are, above anything else, a decoration. If you want effective guards, you'll find that allowing them to move about so they don't lose all blood circulation helps.)

You need to look at the bigger threat here Robb. We need to outlaw Santa suits so this can't happen in the future. Jolly fat men have caused many highly publicized deaths over the years. Remember Gremlins? Not to mention robberies, like in Bad Santa. No, This scourge in red and white must be eliminated. Do it for the children... waaaaiit.
