As some people may know, the .45 caliber forum on Glock Talk is known as the "Big Dawg's Club".

I used to care so much about this stuff that my sigline at GT in those days was "10mm: It's not the size of the dawg in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog!"

On a more serious note, that's because the photoshop was based on Winchester's LE catalog.

As a revolver fan, BTW, this is something that makes me sad, in that JHP technology is very much driven by the LE market, and so the latest and greatest bullets come out in .355" and .401" and .451". If your gun shoots .357" or .429", tough.

Every good .357" JHP bullet developed in the last ten years has either been intended to be shot at ~900fps out of a 2" .38 Spl or weighs 180 grains and was meant to take down deer. The standard defensive revolver market is woefully underserved...

We had a wheel-gunner constantly complaining at IDPA stages "This isn't revolver-friendly!"

My reply to him I still want for our club logo.

"Dammit, Tom, the world isn't revolver-friendly!"

(Somewhat serious side note. Later, we had a woman, fairly new to shooting show up with a 5-shot S&W snubby. Needless to say, NOTHING was friendly to her stages, especially in the matches before she got speedloaders. She didn't whine and complain.. She just shot her matches, and came in 200-400 seconds behind everybody else. It was what she carried, and she was going to practice with it. But after about a year, she did upgrade to a pocket rocket Glock for carry. :) )

Incidentally, the bedside revolver (a PC-13) is loaded with the classic Georgia Arms "Deerstoppers"; a 158gr GDHP @ 1400fps.

How about using a .45 with 185 Gr JHP. Would that more closely mimic the 10MM with a 180 Gr JHP?
