I wonder if Carfax.com would make as much money if the only thing they told you was which dealership originally sold the vehicle? Unless someone can prove me wrong and tell me which ATF form smugglers use to track their black market inventory.

I don't know if he means 'source' as 'who got the gun for illegal purposes' or 'The plant where it was manufactured'.

A is useful. B, not so much unless you have aggregate data that shows a particular source is flagged enough time to indicate something hinky might be going on.

A, however, is damned near impossible without draconian tracking methods. B is easy, but practically useless.

Looks like Mr. Pinciaro didn't want to have an argument back by facts and logic, either.
