Saw this at the local Kohl’s. Thought I’d take a picture for posterity.

I thank God I was never a parent. I'd be freaking the hell out and keeping my girls locked in the basement wearing only potato sacks.

LUCKILY, that underwear looks to be larger than size 6X. Since my daughter is now wearing a size 6X, and I was in a Kohl's last weekend, I feel reasonably confident that this is just poor store layout. And the fact that all the girls underwear (from size just-out-of-diapers to not-quite-ready-for-prime-time) is put in one area.

So far, I haven't had a problem dressing my girls, but then, so far, most of our clothing has been second-hand. It also helps that we live in Utah, where there's a greater demand for modest clothing.

Even in Utah, though, I can't help but look at an occasional display and think, "What are they thinking?!?"

If push comes to shove, there's always boys clothes, subtly altered to be sufficiently "girly". The one shirt I bought new, that I remember at least, is a boy's helicopter shirt. For my two girls, I like how the green print and the green trim compliments pink shorts or jeans; when my son gets old enough to wear it, I'm sure I'll like how it matches blue jeans.

This will also be good, because while I want my daughters to be feminine, I want them to have a certain "tom-boy" streak to them as well. :-)
