And in the case of what appears to be an AT4, it might be a good idea to know what's behind you as well

I've read an explanation by MythBusters that, for a bullet to cause someone to fly backwards like people tend to do in the movies, the person shooting the gun would have to fly backwards the opposite direction.

While I doubt that people fly backwards, this reasoning is also flawed: when "every action has an equal and opposite reaction", if you shoot something that could cause someone to fly backward, the shooter simply needs to have a way to absorb, or deflect, that force, to prevent flying away the opposite direction...like in this picture! (where the force is funneled to the rear via hot gases).
