Glad that bridge was there - he would have ended up in oncoming traffic and there would have been a lot of serious injuries/deaths.

He's alive because the car rotated and hit the bridge passenger side first and off-center. Front first would have smashed the steering column into him, rear first would have flipped it, and driver's side first would have left him as a red smear on the bridge pillar.

The way it hit let the (hopefully) empty passenger-side of the car absorb the initial impact, and let it rotate instead of the bridge cutting all the way through the car, and instead of flipping up into the bridge.

Glad that bridge was there - he would have ended up in oncoming traffic and there would have been a lot of serious injuries/deaths.

So I assume the video is from a police cruiser, which probably means this moron was hauling ass down the interstate, weaving in and out of traffic. And then "holy $#!* it's a cop car!" That's at least what I'm going to assume happened. Cause he passed that car like it was standing still and he was even in the grass and dirt, that's some serious speed. Stupid ass is lucky to be alive.

Two questions:

Where's the ubiquitous gas tank explosion we're always seeing in the movies?

Why was the trooper in the left lane? Doesn't he know that's a passing lane, and that you can not, so they say, exceed the posted speed limits even to pass? Surely the other cars didn't slow down just because they saw a marked vehicle? Unmarked vehicles are so much more efficient at reducing speeding.Why think of the money we could save if all police cars were unmarked. The paint alone .....
