Dispair not about the post 86 nature. The Pulse rifle is made from an M1A1 Thompson. That's the MG and ATF doesn't care how you dress it up. Nothing keeps you from making the shotgun portion.

Indeed - this particular M-41 is built off a completely-legal-for-mere-peons-to-own M-11/9 lower, complete with some crazy-assed upper that lets it take coffin mags and apparently makes it resemble a Suomi... at least underneath all that plastic.

So, three tax stamps later (I think - SBR, SBS, FA), $4kish for the M-11/9, however much for the SBS, and probably somewhere in the neighborhood of $2k for the bodykit, and you would be good to go!

Even better: Only two stamps! The MG "trumps" the SBR; if it's a buzzgun, it can have a barrel as short as you want.
