There's not much difference in believing in that than there is in the fairy tale that by limiting firearms that you will somehow lower crime and violence. Especially given that even the historical records from England show that the introduction of firearms lowered the homicide rate.

People who prey on the weak do so regardless of the tools at their disposal. When the weak are armed, it makes that a much more difficult to become prey.
To ban guns is to damn the less physically able of our society. We have proof of this. Where is the proof that banning guns has any effect on crime or violence, and why is it so difficult for the gun banners amongst us to see this?
