I tossed Kevin Baker a link I knew he'd find interesting, knowing damned well he'd jump on it and rip it apart with his usual aplomb. There was a bit of a scare that I'd have to do the hard work, but alas he came through (in order to not partake in confirmation bias, I'll refrain from commenting on how he nailed this one right out of the park!!!1!)
Now, I had read through the speech and at first I was hoping this would be a ray of sunshine but instead I found it turned into a basic manual of Leftist-Speak – damn the system! Power to the People! blah blah blah – way too soon. What interested me in it was that the author, a valedictorian of her school, saw the problems inherent in the public education system. What I knew Kevin would pounce on was the fact that she took away all the wrong lessons and that she was still falling prey to the very same failings she claimed to be avoiding.
Anyway, Kevin gives it his normal, wordy treatment much better than I can here. Go give him a read.
