It's not just succinct, it's also exceedingly dumb. Not driving a Porsche to avoid being carjacked is a rational choice - one I don't doubt is made every day by countless rich dudes who could easily afford a Porsche, but would rather not be carjacked. Unnecessary OC (read: OC where you could lawfully CC) is even dumber; if you were in the market for a Porsche, and could for the same price buy a special model that worked like any other Porsche for you, but magically appeared like a worthless Kia to every potential carjacker, then why the hell wouldn't you buy it?

Buying a Porsche and then never driving it for fear of theft is dumb. Not buying one in the first place because of the risk of theft is reasonable. The analogy breaks down there, however, as we're talking open vs. concealed carry, not carry vs. no carry. If the same Porsche could be driven in either "steal me mode" or "don't steal" mode, at the driver's option, driving in steal me mode when you don't have to would be foolhardy.

Seriously, though, there are differences in OC and CC that make the car analogy insufficient. For instance, size, capacity, carry location, garb (what's the weather like?), ingress and egress from vehicles, etc. In short, I guess a more apt comparison would be driving the Porsche in the snow in winter instead of the 4x4 "because you can." Then again, Porsche makes a 4x4 these days, which really just goes to show that we should let everyone make their own decisions in such cases and then let them deal with the repercussions.
