I know I'm not the only one who has them, but I wonder how much the effect other people.
Last night, I dreamt I was on a college campus, for whatever reason. I had my Glock 29 in my COMPTAC holster and was having a spirited discussion with a bunch of students (and some people I knew from way back when) regarding how stupid gun laws were. Gun banners are just as stupid in my dreams (one could do nothing more than insult me).
I knew at the time I was committing a super-felony by having a gun on campus, but I was enjoying the irony of having people tell me that only murderers would do so when I was sitting there, mere inches away, and yet the only holes being shot were in their arguments.
Eventually, the conversation devolved into name calling from their side so I stood up to leave.
And that's when my holster broke.
Now, here I am, on campus, with a Glock 29 trying to slide down my pants leg (this was how I knew it was a dream – pants). I'm printing like hell and all I can think about is trying to get to my car so I could leave. Which would be great if I had any idea where my car was. I'm marching all over campus, just trying to find the parking lot, walking like a penguin trying to keep my gun from dropping on the ground out of my pants leg.
On the way, there were some… I guess you could call them bathrooms. They were kind of like combination showers / hole-in-the-floor-for-pooping kind of things and were disgusting. The way I was walking looked like I was having gastric distress anyway so I figured I could get a stall and try to get everything put back in place. Unfortunately, there were no doors on the stalls and the dividers barely covered anything, so I'm trying to fish down my trouser leg to pull back up my pistol without letting my pants hit the filthy floor, plus keep the Glock hidden from all the other people in there.
I managed to hoist back up the pistol but the holster's clips, while not broken per se, simply wouldn't hold onto my belt so I only bought a few minutes of time – dream physics are different I guess.
Eventually, I make it to my car, but the people I had been discussing this with were there with the police. My conversation had made them concerned that someone might try to bring a gun onto campus (not specifically me, just anyone) and they were trying to get the cops to search people.
Tense, but I was able to get in my car and put my piece into the glove box and drive off (that's another part of my dream that involved the reoccurring theme of having a complete inability to control the car, but that's a story for another day).
I've had plenty of other dreams regarding guns. Being that I discuss them so often, they're bound to work their way into my subconscious. However, this was the first time I had a holster failure or even a printing issue.
So, do you have gun dreams? Let's hear them.
Normally in my shooting dreams I am an absolutely unstoppable badass
