I've been to Venezuela twice for mission trips and on each of them we ran a free medical clinic for local residents. On the last one, just last year, there was very nearly a fist fight in the line waiting to get in for our free services.

All this in a country with "free" health care.

(D) MEMBERS OF CONGRESS IN THE EXCHANGE-

(i) REQUIREMENT- Notwithstanding any other provision of law, after the effective date of this subtitle, the only health plans that the Federal Government may make available to Members of Congress and congressional staff with respect to their service as a Member of Congress or congressional staff shall be health plans that are–

(I) created under this Act (or an amendment made by this Act); or

(II) offered through an Exchange established under this Act (or an amendment made by this Act).

The staff that wrote the thing get special treatment. Not members of Congress.

At least...not yet. I fully expect them to exempt themselves later on.

But when there are no doctors (willing to work for what the govt is willing to pay) ...it'll be a CRISIS and then they'll fully nationalize health care! either way "they" win...so sad

This has been coming for years, and this abomination of a health bill is only going to accelerate it.

In Massachusetts, home of the failed universal health care much of this bill is modeled after, MA Turnpike cops make more than most primary care physicians.
