They probably do, they just call it "Gun Violence Awareness Week" because they can't be honest about it.

Actually, I do seem to recall various "Gun Violence Awareness Weeks" (as Yu-Ain points out) and "Stop the [Gun] Violence" and whatever-the-hell-else "awareness" exercises at Tech when I was there. I never attended (I had better things to do - like clip my nails), so I cannot speak as to their popularity, but in all fairness they did exist.

You both bring up the point I was trying to make in a subtle, yet scathing manner (and apparently failed) - They couldn't have a week without misrepresenting what it really is.
