On a slightly related note, the VCDL was at the Portsmouth, VA City Council meeting to try to convince the mayor to leave Bloomberg's MAIGs. During the meeting, a Marine got up and spoke to the council to ask them if they could try to give as much recognition to the living veterans tomorrow as they give to the dead soldiers on Memorial Day.

He had served, and obviously survived, both WWII and Korea. Tough buggers those Marines.
