The .950 JDJ has become something of an internet legend, and is frequently cited as an example of a "ridiculously large" cartridge, thanks to its overwhelming ballistic figures. The cartridge drives its aforementioned 3,600 gr (230 g) bullet at approximately 2,200 ft/s (670 m/s). This yields a muzzle energy of 38,685 ft·lbf (52,450 J).

Even the recoil junkie in me cringes at the thought of lighting one of those suckers off. The rifle is 85 pounds and STILL kicks like a mule.

Mikee, I don't think over-penetration is an issue unless you're shooting at anything not fabricated out of 18" thick depleted uranium and at least 3 miles away.

For a handgun of this caliber, they need a gyrojet. As it is really a rocket propelled projectial, there is not a need for a large and heavy firearm as there is very little recoil. I saw one in a law enforcement collection, and the firearms examiner explained to me that the projectial was not up to velocity when it left the barrel, but would gain speed for up to 15 feet from the barrel.

I'm surprised they didn't take this picture next to a real beer bottle instead. This is clearly ammo meant for the same reason men buy Cameros. Someone has a rediculously small penis, insecurity issues, and is just trying to compensate. Only a coward feels the need to shoot something from so far away that they'll need this.
