About 50 pounds and 12 years ago

Found my military ID when I was in the reserves

Interestingly, I pretty much have the same hair cut…

I was thin back then. At that point in my life, it didn't matter how much I ate. Gaining weight was very difficult.

Although, the three months in boot camp put 30 pounds on me.

Wish I could have kept the picture from my original ID--The expression on my face looked like I just discovered they had put me in the military for 4 years, instead of just the Air Force.

Probably not. I don't generally have an issue with my weight. I can control it quite well. On my mom's side, people tend to be very thin. On my father's side, chunky. As a youngster, I was a rail and couldn't gain weight to save my life unless I was eating and exercising 24x7 (hence the 30lb increase during boot camp).

After I got out of boot camp, I had a harder time keeping my weight up. Eventually, my metabolism slowed down and now I'm where I need to be. That extra weight was preferred rather than something to be avoided. At 6'3", my frame could support even more weight, but it'd need to be somewhere besides my tummy.

Wow you did bulk up. That looks a lot like the photo from my fist DL, when I lied about my weight being 170...I was more like a bony 165.

Now I'm working hard to keep myself below 2 bills.

In one of my boxes somewhere I've got one that looks a lot like that (pink ARNG ID card) that actually says "NO EXPIRATION" in the Expiration Date field. Back when I was a civilian technician they gave us non-expiring cards since we had to remain in the guard to keep our jobs.

I'm sure I'm a bit rounder now than then. However, boot camp took 32 pounds off of me. My wife actually said I looked too thin. In order to make sure that never happens again, and out of supreme kindness to her, I've put on a good bit of weight since then.

It's been about 17 years since I let my enlistment run out.

I didn't have an issue with my weight until I got past 40.

Why not just say something like "You've got the lips of a nigger! Why don't you throw a watermelon on your shoulder and take another picture?"
