Building their own web page and linking to me. I see a 'localhost' referral in my logs from a little north of me.

Just curious to know who that might be!

Heh. I run Apache on my main machine, for various reasons. Depending on what config I'm playing with, and other experiments, I might send a referrer of localhost, or a non-existent TLD. IIRC, if I have my hosts file set up right, I might even send a referrer containing just my hostname, with no domain. I sometimes chuckle at the thought of someone looking through their logs and wondering, WTF?

And, due to my somewhat idiosyncratic browsing practices, I often send no referrer at all.
