I never said she was a member of Stormfront. What I said was she'd be comfortable there discussing race and so would some of her commenters. So would you for that matter. Who cares? You don't have to be white to be a racist. Any race qualifies. My assumption was based on usually the racists-against-blacks I run across are white, but by no means is it a rule. My first marriage was to a Chinese guy and I lived in Asia for a time, so I know other folk can be quite racist.

What I KNOW is that you can't be a part of a despised minority such as being black in America or you would never have posted anything as racist against blacks as you did here, nor would you make the same racist assumptions.

How do you know who I am? Why do you assume I don't support rights, and by that I assume you mean gun rights or personal liberty just because I can recognize racism against blacks when I see it?

Um, that would be because every time we talk about our opposition to Obama, it's declared that we only do so because of an increased amount of melanin in his skin. Like you, so many people scream RACISM for every possible thing. The Democrats, in general, are a billion times worse than the Republicans.

Ever hear the story of the boy who cried wolf? Sure, eventually there WAS a wolf, and nobody here is claiming there is never racism - as a half-breed myself, I saw it with my own eyes growing up in the suburbs of Atlanta. And with people like you, I see it even today.

Growing up looking at it, it left a bad taste in my mouth how any one human being would consider another human inferior based on something as stupid as the color of their skin, and it became an anathema to me. And yet, here you are, claiming I'm a white racist.

Y'know, I read your blog and it's fulla prejudice, how black folk would never, ever be welcome among white survival types (except as tokens) if SHTF cos Whitey is always and forever hatin', and I think to myself, BS; any person who has useful skills and is willing to work is welcome most places when times are tough and/or the work is hard. (Not all places; I'm not pretending there are no prejudiced people in this world but you are making it self-fulfilling with the "don't even try" line).

Look into the demographics of enlisted sailors in the US Navy in the Age of Sail, for instance.

Or ask yourself what happens to a group or culture that wastes skills and talent, or devalues them; I have always been amazed at the 18th/19th-century difference between the inventive New Englander and his Southern fellow-citizens, for one example. Care to guess what the distorting influence was? (Hint, the Romans and Greeks seem to have gone the same way for the same reason).

What I said is blacks need to be careful. We have make sure we are valued as much as anybody else in the group--groups with people one has a long term relationship are best.

If any issues arise, race is not something we can discuss openly--or we will be accused of using the race card as Robb has said. Most blacks know discussing race with nonblacks is completely taboo unless intimacy is established and even then it's dicey.

You don't want those taboo and unresolvable issues coming up.

Y'know, I'm reminded that I have let my ACLU membership lapse... Anyhow, since I don't have a "Check This Box If You Are Of A Rich Dark Hue" spot for commenters, I'm not aware of the melanin breakdown of my regular readers, nor could I really care; it's just not a factor I use in judging people. I know that several have identified themsleves over the years as black or Asian or whatever if it was somehow germane to the discussion, but I can't remember who they were off the top of my head.

All this talk about race ON THE INTERNET of all places is silly in the extreme: In this medium, the only thing that matters is the words and the mind behind them, it doesn't matter if you're a German Shepherd using an ethernet-enabled Etch-A-Sketch in Kuala Lumpur; all that matters is what you say on that Etch-A-Sketch, yet some people want to drag neolithic remnants with them into the Information Age.

When I was little, where we lived my brother and I were laughed and made fun-of and pointed-at and called Monkey for our skin-color, and kids sometimes threw rocks, unripe mangos, and firecrackers at us. At a county fair on "Children's Day" we were surrounded by an angry mob and forced to leave the parking lot before we could even enter the fairgrounds. It was in a country that has a three-thousand-plus-year well documented history of institutionalized racism and skin-color differentiation that makes the U.S. experience look puny and pathetic. You may think you know everything about what racism is - until you're an Untouchable. For a Thousand years. And there are also those there who are beyond Untouchable. There are people will protest and say it doesn't exist anymore, that they have fixed it all and remedied all the problems in Legislation - yeh right. After a thousand years.
And most of them self-identify as Liberals, and go with "Progressive" ideas because they believe that reflects well on them - and that's really the most important thing. It's self idolatry, purely that.
