4 boxes of 12 gauge with nothing but a t-shirt twixt you and the butt stock tends to leave a mark

I think if I really start to get into this, I'm going to need a padded shirt or something.

If you shoot regularly you will stop bruising.The first day of dove hunting season everyone would always have a bruise at the end of the day but usually after that it was no issue

You might want to consider trying one of those P.A.S.T. anti- recoil shoulder pads. Or maybe install a "Limbsaver" recoil pad on the shotgun.

I've been using a Morgan adjustable recoil pad on my 870 for years and never had bruising.

From the position of the bruise, I see you're trying to shoot it like a rifle instead of a shotgun. If you're interested, I can fix that with no fiscal outlay for shirts, pads, etc., just a simple position adjustment. No more bruising, increased accuracy, faster mount.

Most likely Sennin. I know how to shoot rifle (thank you USMC!), but shotguns are just something I've picked up and started using. I'm open to any suggestions.
