It's been my goal from the get go. Mr "The health care bill isn't about me" all of a sudden says "YOU'RE GOING TO DESTROY MY PRESIDENCY".

Perfect. Just what I wanted. I WANT the socialist to fail. I want his policies to be discarded into the dustbin of shitty history. I do this because I want what's best for America and nebulous "hope and change" isn't it.

Aren't posters on this blog pro-business? Universal healthcare is a very pro-business thing. That's part of the reason Walmart supports it.

UBU, that's why you fail so miserably. You can't function outside of a liberal / conservative paradigm. You can't see past simplistic labels.

The majority of the people I consort with online are pro freedom. Whatever allows the individual the most choice and freedom to live their lives as they see fit, we're for. Universal Healthcare is anything but liberal. It uses the power of the state to force you to do something you may not want to do or may wish to do in another way.

Every resource is rationed. Universal Healthcare places the rationing choices in the hands of bureaucrats who will dole them out as political favors. The powerful and well connected will continue to have decent care while everyone else will be forced to use sub-par services.

I've enjoyed "Universal Healthcare". As a Marine, I was given the joy of using the military hospitals. I was given Tylenol for colds, pink eye, and any rashes. Once you move out of the base and go to the VA hospital, it gets even worse.

Yes, many times I push for pro-business because the free market is still the best way of improving the lives of everyone through the system of capitalism. Yes, I agree we need a disinterested party to mediate between businesses and between those businesses and the people they serve. In that aspect, I'm good with a government that acts as an arbitrator.

The health care system could be fixed by getting the government out since it's 99% of the problem to begin with.

You confuse pro-business with pro-liberty and freedom of choice and outcome. How is reduction of choice a pro-business stance?

Sure, Wal-Mart and other businesses may like ObamaCare but that doesn't equate to support for it from a pro-business perspective. That is very simplistic. "Ahh, businesses must benefit from this ergo people who like businesses will support it!". Dead wrong. One does not lead to the other.

Universal healthcare is not pro-business. WalMart supports it because it would be good for their business. Why? Because of the negative publicity they have had, they offer health insurance to more of their employees (including the hourly part-time workers) than any of their competitors. The Universal health care bill would require their competitors (K-Mart, Target, Shop-Ko) to offer the same type of coverage to all of their employees (i.e. increasing their costs - which translates into higher prices). So this is a case of WalMart recognizes legislation that will punish their competitors, so they support it. Wal-mart is in it to make money (which they should be).
