Chain SAW

It was designed to have the ergonomics of a chain saw, and the firepower of a SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon). It’s based on the idea that heads up displays no longer require a gun to be held up to the face for aiming. Theoretically, this type of grip could be applied to many different weapons in the future.

Somewhere, Josh Sugarmann just took a harder look at his nightstand.

Doesn't this, pardon the pun, give ammunition to the VPC and BC that these types of guns are designed to fire from the hip?

Yes, if you watch the video, that is EXACTLY what it would be used for. However, they mean it in the manner that firing from that position is more ergonomically controllable if you use other sighting methods.

Using IR lasers and goggles, you could fire this way with better accuracy.

But, being that it's a new machine gun, it's not available to us lowly subjects anyway, so any argument they may try to have falls flat the instant they take it out of the box.

My first thought wasn't aliens, but smartlinks and other HUDded goodness. Which would appear to be the point
