Gun Myths

Of yet another gun control myth. Sarah Brady Paradise, where the formerly Great Britain used to be, has much lower gun ownership, yet an astonishingly higher violent crime rate.

It's almost like the anti-gunners telling us that gun control will reduce crime is a lie or something.

It's inconceivable that Britain could have any violent crime. After all there are laws against committing violent acts. And as we know from their banning of guns laws prevent bad people from doing bad things.

But they believe it therefore it MUST be true. This means nothing, it's just another fact that will be conveniently dismissed by the "true believers." Remember, gun control is a religion.

Watch, they'll just play it off and say "Well if they had guns it would be even higher."

Your chances of being mugged in London are now six times greater than in New York. England's rates of assault, robbery, and burglary are far higher than ours and it's reported that over 50% percent burglaries in the U.K. occur while occupants are at home, compared with 13 percent in the U.S., where burglars admit to fearing armed homeowners more than the police.

The disarmament of their citizens was based on the proposition that people don't need to protect themselves because society will protect them. It also will protect their neighbors: Police advise those who witness a crime to "walk on by" and let the professionals handle it.

See how well THAT has worked out.

I have to admit to some satisfaction in seeing either total silence, or abject denial, from the hoplophobes and anti-rights advocates concerning this news... Granted, these statistics come at a very steep price for the subjects of the United Kingdom, so one should not take too much satisfaction at being proven right, but, from the other direction, those self-same subjects all-but demanded that these circumstances be forced upon them.

Be careful what you ask for.

Hopefully now they will start learning that disarming the law-abiding actually encourages, aids, and abets the law-breaking... but I say "hopefully" simply because I know they never will.
