Kevin celebrates his blog-birthday #6 today, which prompted me to go look at how long I've been slogging at this and I came to the realization that May 11th was my 5th year anniversary and I totally forgot.
Hell, I didn't get myself a card or a gift or anything. I'm such a shmuck.
The funny thing, when I think about it, is that I've been doing this for 5 years and have used 3 different blogging engines - .Text, SubText, and now Ansible. With SubText, I used several different versions. I've lost the blog twice due to technical issues / server death but thankfully nothing too permanent (thank GOD for backups!).
Statistics – 3389 posts, 10,836 comments (actually, many more as one of the blog-deaths resulted in several months of lost comments), 645,563 unique visitors since I started counting (didn't add SiteMeter until 2007 I think) and still 0 Instalanches. Thanks Glenn, hope your blender breaks and your puppy milkshake is lumpy.
So, thanks to all of you who bang around here from time to time. It amazes me that I actually have several hundred people who consider what I have to say interesting enough to come back for more.
