They stole his Land Rover and tried to run him down with it. The lady (gasp! There's crooks with ovaries?) was driving and paid for her stupidity with her life.
Detectives aren't sure if the male suspect was hit. The property owner last saw him limping down a nearby street.
I have a feeling it won't take long to track him down. That limp was either a bullet hit or an injury obtained while he was leaving his accomplice to bleed to death in the car. Nice guy. Should make some inmate a nice bitch pretty soon.
And, in a turn of events that'll make your jaw drop, the Sherriff has some sage advice
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd says Jones likely won't face charges, and he offers a warning to other would-be robbers. "The word to the criminal is first -- quit being a criminal, quit stealing," Judd said. "But if you're breaking into someone's house, the home owner is very likely to shoot you."

No admonishing the home owner, no "Let the police take care of it", but putting the blame squarely where it lies and laying out the facts of what will happen to you if you don't listen.
Sometimes, I like living here.
