Both after the fact and in violation of state and federal constitutional protections against confiscating property just-because. I wonder if it occurs to these morons while they're flinging the legal dung that will become a bill, "Gee, we're violating an awful lot of laws just to get to our object of hatred."

I wonder if the Flintlock/Muzzleloading community in NYS will have any luck stopping this Bill.

That community is who seems to be stopping the passage of a .50cal ban in NJ.

Unlikely. We couldn't stop it in the People's Demokratik Republik of Kollyvornia, although ours is limited to .50BMG type guns. (I think.)

It probably won't change anything, but I would point out that my .50 caliber front-stuffer fires a .490" round ball and a .010 patch. A similar condition exists for paper-patched .50 caliber BPCR.

My 50BMG? What 50BMG? Ohhhhh, you mean THAT 50BMG! Yeah, I gave it to my dad in Montana. Yeah, heard that law was in the works and thought, "this here is a gun that needs to go to Montana for a while, just to be safe".

BTW, I live in WA, where we don't have that kind of nonsense, so if anyone from NY needs a safe place to store a 50BMG, I have a safe, and I promise to give it lots of love and lube and regular workouts.

TJP: Bill Clinton questioned about the original AWB, was quoted as saying,"We are going to pass this legislation regardless of the will of the people."
Since then, I've heard other, similar quotes from assorted members of Congress, usually Democrat. (Most recent, I can't remember the woman's name, "I don't CARE if it's constitutional, it's what's RIGHT !!")
So, how much respect for the rule of law am we to have, when our elected officials have little or none, themselves? It only matters if you mind being labeled a criminal.
