The next IPSC match is this Sunday. That means I have quite a bit of work to do.

  • I need to load another 100 to 200 rounds.
  • I need to reorganize my range bag. Hitting the indoor range is different than a competition. I'll even have a spare extractor just in case.
  • I'm out of brake cleaner which comes in handy
  • I need to spray paint the brass bright pink so I can reclaim the suckers before the old farts with the little pick-up sticks can get to them ;)
  • I've not done much dry fire nor drawing practice with the .45. Several days of that should be required.
  • Mental preparation – I've got to learn to go for accuracy rather than speed. I'm not going to beat anyone regardless, so best to lose points because I took 3 seconds longer than tacking on a slew of very fast misses.
  • Need to ensure the match is still on. I'm not an IPSC member (yet). I guess I should make sure that the club doesn't mind if I just pay to shoot.

I'm dying to get out there more. The paper target shooting gets so friggin' boring after a while. I need to move.

Oh, and a cigar is called for. Something about waiting around, puffing on a stogie is just right!
