The Civilian Gun Self-Defense Blog just celebrated its 4000th entry. Clayton Cramer, the brains (and the looks) behind the site had this to say

Regular readers know that the reason that I started the Civilian Gun Self-Defense Blog was an email exchange between myself and anti-gun Professor John J. Donohue back in 2003, in which he claimed that legitimate defensive uses of guns by civilians were extremely rare. Thanks, Professor Donohue, for making me do this!

This is the main resource I use when countering the 'self defense rarely happens' myth. I've had it said several times that anecdotal data isn't proof, but the sheer amount of stories on the site sure as hell meant something.

In other news, which state had the most self defense stories? Texas with 506 stories. But guess who's in second? That's right, the Gunshine State itself with 368.

There's some pretty sobering statistics he has there as well, so check them out.
