Kevin posts something that is proven to be false. Instead of deleting the post he simply mans up
DISCLAIMER: Until proven otherwise, I'm going to go with reader juris_imprudent's assessment that this "report" is a very clever fraud, thus my Quote of the Day for Monday, April 13. I was not the only one suckered (not an excuse), but juris is right - it smells, and I can only plead stuffed sinuses for not recognizing it. Still, I'm not going to pull the post. I admit my mistakes when I make them, I don't shove them down the memory hole.
I shove my rather large foot into my cavernous mouth on occasion too, but I'm willing to accept that I make mistakes and can be wrong. It helps with my credibility.
The gun blogs that I frequent are the same way. Sometimes there's heated conversation, but in the end, those that are proven wrong will not only recant, they'll leave it for the world to see. I believe it is due to the same reason I do it – I'm more interested in the truth than simply being right.
I'm not a gun nut because I want to be, I'm a gun nut because the facts clearly show I am right.
Good for you Kevin!
