Adriane Kelly Winchester can't believe I filled a prescription today for VIAGRA for a DOG!!!! What is this world coming to?!?!?!?

I wonder if the person pickup up the prescription also picked up a set of shin guards

Viagra was originally a heart medication. When they went into clinical trials, they had multiple patients ask whether they could keep taking the drug. Eventually they realized what the side effect was, and also realized they had a blockbuster.

My guess is, when they tested in animals, which would have included dog studies, it worked pretty well. Otherwise it wouldn't have made it into humans. So it's quite likely for dogs, it's heart medication.

Oh, it turned out that it was pretty much a dud as a heart medication in humans, but it has a great side effect profile :)
