Nah he'd probably win then with the turbo and the lighter car. I only get like 32-34mpg. Don't worry Fiftycal, I've also got an 11-second Oldsmobile so I get to drive a fun import and still keep my man card.

Actually maybe it's not a bad idea to do a blog car league - anyone think bracket racing online would be hard to do?

At best I can get 30mpg. Avg is around 27. I'm not fast off the block, but the cool thing about the GTI is it accelerates regardless of speed. I can "take off" at 60 the same way I can at 30.

In a few years, I'll probably see about tinkering under the hood a bit. I hear you can get an easy 50hp with basic add-ons (with a decrease in mpg, of course).

The new Civic with the McPherson front struts still don't compare to the 1992-1999 Civics with double wishbone suspension. When I had my 1994 Civic EX, I had the strut tower bars, lower rear strut bar and Koni ride adjustable hydraulic struts installed, along with Michelin MXV4 silica-based tires and that baby handled like you would not believe. If I ever get my hands on the motherfuckers that stole my baby, there'll be hell to pay.
