This phrase makes my skin crawl
Whether the gun is a wartime souvenir collected by a family or was purchased in another state and transported into New York, residents will be able to fulfill their legal responsibility to register the firearm.
It's an unconstitutional requirement by the government, it's not a 'responsibility'. Calling it a responsibility to grant the government more control over your life is on par with telling the Jews it's their responsibility to register and get the tattoo. It's immoral for the government to try to compile a list of firearm owners as it does nothing to curb crime and everything to make self defense and the exercising of a right as hard as possible for the law abiding.
