I admit to being disappointed - disappointed that he probably is doing something similar, and disappointed in myself for thinking such a thing when other people's lives have been shattered or ended.

Not at all. If he didn't jump up and down I'm sure there was at least one, possibly low-key, high five. And I'll echo Linoge sentiments about being disappointed in myself because that was the FIRST thing I thought of when I saw they had already released a statement.
