Remember when I said you can't ban any firearms unless you ban them all?

Anti-Rights Idiocy

Walther says the change would treat BB guns and similar items the same as firearms. Those guns can't be carried in public without a permit.

Seems like they've had some cases of vandalism with bb guns. Shooting out windows with a bb gun is already illegal. I guess this is just another way of making it illegaller or something.

I've had my house vandalized by some punk with a BB gun. I don't blame the gun, I blame the punk. Making it more illegal to shoot my daughters' windows out wouldn't have stopped that from happening. Some turd-burglar who isn't afraid of the jail time associated with vandalism isn't going to be put off by the same jail time for simply carrying a bb-gun.

This is just another attempt to incrementally remove rights by assigning the actions of a few to the many. We might as well outlaw blacks from being in public because there are blacks who commit crimes for all the good that line of reasoning goes.

Remember, folks – the goal is to subjugate us. It's done under the guise of 'caring for us', but make no mistake about it, those who wish to protect you from yourself are doing so out of a deep seated desire to control you. And you can't control someone who can shoot back.

Up here in Pasco, we had our living room and bedroom windows shot out. My wife saw the kids that did it and saw them run home.

We called the sheriff and they came out and told us that since they didn't see it happen there was little they could do.

I commented, heatedly, "I guess if you didn't see me shoot them then nobody murdered them, huh?"

The Deputy replied to me, "Sir, they did have a gun, and they were pointing it at you, you would be well within your rights to shoot. And I am going over there to make sure that they and their parents know that too."

I was happy to learn that the law included BB Guns as Guns then.

One reason to "ban" the carrying of things, is it's easier to prove that versus the mis-use of the thing. They don't have to prove you shot out the window, you had the BB gun...therefore you're guilty. They didn't get Al Capone on racketeering, murder, etc, but on tax evasion....because that's all they could "prove"

Intent is the only thing that is relevant, though. If my daughter wanted to take the air rifle down the street to her friend's house who also shoots, it is irresponsible and illogical to condemn her as a criminal simply because someone else might do something.

I remember the days when I used to tote around a BB gun around the neighborhood. Nobody batted an eye (then again, when we accidentally shot a window, we fessed up).

I reject the premise. The "punish everyone due to the actions of a few" mindset is again nothing more than a feeble mind trying to attempt to exert control over those they cannot contain any other way.
