So, I'm at Walgreen's drive through trying to pick up my prescription. The guy in the other lane apparently didn't have insurance and couldn't afford the medication he was trying to get. When the lady informed him that he'd need to pay for it in full, he popped a gasket, screaming obscenities that his Walgreen's card somehow should pay for it.
The pharmacist behind the bullet proof glass (and with this ass clown, I see why they have it) was trying to calmly explain that the card didn't pay for prescriptions and, to put it nicely, the guy lost his shit. He screamed about going inside then peeled out in his minivan. He took off so fast, I couldn't make out his tag.
Sure enough, Sr. Dickforbrains runs inside where there was a line of at least 4 or 5 other customers before him. Guess who didn't care and just cut in line? Yup.
Anyway, I could see the guy was beyond rational and definitely borderline when it came to possibly getting violent. According to the Brady Campaign Playbook, I, as a near crazed gun owner, should have ran inside with my guns a blazin' to play hero and save the day.
Nope. I waited patiently for my prescription and then left. Not my business. Had I been in the store when all this went down and the man had gotten violent then who knows? However, I would not put myself in any danger unless it was crystal clear that someone was going to be in mortal danger, and this guy didn't exactly exude "body builder / martial artist". Being irate, screaming vulgarities, and pounding your fists on the counter is not a reason to use deadly force, and I and every gun owner I know know that.
It's almost like the Brady's are lying to us...
