Did you know that was the rate of fire of a Micro-Uzi? Apparently neither did this dickhead attorney

"A Micro Uzi is made by and for the Israeli Armed Forces and is intended to meet the operational needs of Israeli Special Forces," Hampden District Attorney William Bennett said in a news release. "It is not a hunting weapon. It has a rate of fire of 1,700 rounds per second."

Wow. That would pretty much mean the barrel was packed with moving bullets, tip to butt. One hell of a bolt carrier group too to be able to cycle faster than the speed of light!

Luckily for William Bennett, stupidity is not a crime and he is free to go.

I'm curious about that too. I just used that quote over at my place and the numbers were correct (tho I thought Micros were closer to 1,200 RPM, but I won't split hairs in this case)

Robb, I just checked the Boston Globe in the break room They wrote the quote as "1700 rounds per minute". I have to assume the papers were printed fairly early so my bet is it was a misprint

I'd like to see one of those fire 1700 rpm. I think Weer'd Beard is closer to the actual firing rate.
