It's National Ammo Day

I'm celebrating not by purchasing ammunition, but rather the gear needed to make my own in .45 ACP.

This, of course, assumes my Para will actually come back to me...

Rob, I'd be interested in hearing about the choices you make and why regarding reloading equipment. I'm just getting into that myself, also starting out with 45acp. Being a careful (paranoid) beginner, I went with a single-stage (RCBS Rockchucker kit). Haven't decided on an initial load yet, just getting organized.

Eagle, it all depends on the amount that you shoot. I get by with a Lee Turret, but I definitely could stand to go up to a decent progressive press. The turret is also a single stage press when I load 6.8SPC, I just remove the bar that rotates the top.

Dunno my recipe yet for the .45 as I'm still trying to get some bullets to test with to make sure they work in my pistol just fine.

Single stage is fine for low volume, high precision count-out-the-grains stuff like rifle ammo. For high volume pistol stuff, just get a Dillon progressive and be done with it.
