Make 'em pick cotton!

When Obama imposes his Mandatory Volunteerism on the public by executive order, maybe he should make blacks pick cotton.

I mean, slavery is slavery, why bother hiding it anymore?

Sadly, SCOTUS has pretty much declared that unless we're talking about actual racist slavery, the 13th Amendment has essentially run its course.

Dude, you know that the Homeland Security Act, and other follow-on legislation, gives the federal government the power to actually pull you out your office and make you go pick strawberries, right? (Or any other food crop for that matter.) It falls under that whole 'protecting the food supply' arena. (I doubt they would actually do it, but it is a power that the .gov has at it's disposal in cases of "national or regional emergency.")

I don't know if cotton cold be covered, but possibly since it is a high-use industrial/agricultural product.

Never vote in powers for your supposed friends that you don't want your political enemies to have when they take office.

Putting me in a strawberry field would damage the supply more than help. Very few things can I eat until I get sick, and that's one of them.

The day the gov't pulls me out of my office is the day I start shooting, though... Unless it's to work in the Strawberry fields. Then I'll have a snack first THEN start shooting.
