On the other hand, if the federal government were properly limited to its constitutional powers, there would be much less to fear, and elections would be less stressful for all concerned. Just a thought.
That's not "just a thought" but in my mind the very core of what the founding fathers envisioned. When you self govern, the people in those spots are just representatives, not leaders or rulers. I'd prefer it if we were arguing over who is more like "Mr. and Mrs. America" as the face we choose to represent us all rather than which power mad dictator-wannabe we want to give all the keys to the kingdom to.
