Since I went to watch an IDPA match, I'm heading over to watch a USPSA match tomorrow. I'd partake in the activities, but alas, my pistol is in the shop. Some rod isn't connecting with some pin correctly and the trigger is able to be pulled with the safety engaged. Para USA is taking care of it as we speak.
Not that I'm a fan of the safety, but if it's there, I'm going to use it and train with it as the last thing you want to do is freak out because the trigger won't move (in my case, it would move all the way to the rear and while it wouldn't fire the pistol, it caused it to lock up).
So, we'll see how IPSC shooting looks. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do some of both. Maybe IDPA one month, USPSA the next. I just have to figure out how to swing the ammo because burning 100-200 rounds a month is going to get a little pricey. The good part is that since I won't be loading for self defense, I can get cheaper semi-wadcutter or round nosed bullets instead of pricier hollow points.
Either way, I'm excited about going tomorrow to see the differences in the shooting styles. Wish I could join in for a change, but that'll have to wait. If the pistol makes it back to me sometime this week, I may try for the IDPA match next Sunday.
