We all know Barack You ever seen a grown man naked? Obama doesn't like the little people to be armed. Sure, he'll mouth platitudes to hunters that he's not going to take away their guns, but that's mostly based on the fact he knows he doesn't have the votes in congress.
I've read in several places where people think us gun-nuts are overreacting, that an Obama administration won't be knocking on doors to confiscate our rifles.
Which, shockingly, is probably true while completely missing the real threat.
The goal of anti-gunners is not to "take away" guns in a literal sense. Their goals are to make the ownership, usage, feeding, and purchasing so fraught with peril that the populace stops exercising their rights in fear of breaking the law.
The easiest, most visible attack is the one of the mythical "ban on things that might look somewhat like an assault weapon". The look of a weapon has nothing to do with it's lethality - that depends entirely on the user. But the anti gun forces are always saying that there is no need for the populace to own a weapon that meets and arbitrary definition X since it doesn't serve a sporting purpose.
When did a sports requirement get shoehorned into the Constitution?
When people started seeing through the smokescreen of the AWB, the anti's started going for the "crime prevention" angle - make ammunition serialized (impossible), smart-guns (impossible), registration of guns and ammo (creepy fascism), limiting the number of firearms you can purchase (stupid).
Another angle is safety. Mandatory trigger locks. Separate storage of ammo with the firearm unloaded, disassembled, and the trigger in a lock-box in a bank not in your own state. Again, smart guns that won't fire unless the batteries are 100% fresh and there's no grease on the fingerprint scanner.
All things that "technically do not interfere with the Second Amendment" and are "common sense" restrictions regulations.
Those are the things Barack Ladies and Gentlemen, Children of all Ages Obama supports. He supports these things because eventually, they won't have to break down your door to take your guns, they'll only arrest you for not having a proper sling mount or too many .22 rounds in the same area code. And nobody will care if the police arrest a criminal, now would they?
