The man, Timothy Simmons, 27, was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, possessing an unregistered firearm and possessing unregistered ammunition, a spokeswoman for the Capitol Police said.

Granted, he was in DC where it's illegal to have unregistered bullet points in a PowerPoint presentation, but still. And is there such a thing as a non dangerous weapon? Isn't that kind of the point?

The original news reports said that he was found with "near the Capitol" with "a rifle, ammunition, and an IED." Now, for some reason, no mention of the IED....could it be that the Capitol Police....overreacted? And maybe he was just some guy with a hunting rifle?
