When you consider the safety of children

When classes start Aug. 25 at the tiny Harrold school district, there will be one distinct difference from years prior — some of the teachers may have guns

I would have no problem sending my own children to a school that allowed teachers to carry firearms or other weapons. Why would I? I carry weaponry myself.

This is a refreshing piece of news!

What's great about this is the fact that teachers and those involved in education are thought to be the anti-folks front-line. No educated public school union-worker in their right mind would ever be so nuts as to actually WANT a weapon in school! Quite possibly because it's shining a light on the fact that sometimes words, dialogue, knowledge and understanding simply can't prevent some psycho from locking the doors and murdering everyone.

Good on them, indeed!

This is great news. I am not a father yet but when I think about being a father and knowing that around 4 my young ones will then be spending most of their time with the only protection being a sign telling the bad guys it is a gun free zone, it makes me queasy.

I want our educators armed, hell if our kids are with them most of the time, then I want to know they can protect them.
